Mid Unit review
Mid unit review
Today we had our mid-unit review. We got split into groups to discuss and show our work and ideas behind our projects. For me this was so helpful as I find looking at other people’s work inspires me and gives me a better idea of what I could be doing to help develop my work in other ways that I may not be familiar with myself. It also made me feel better in the sense of seeing that others have been struggling to find inspiration or maybe even stuck for ideas like I have, so therefore I didn’t feel alone or like I was the only one feeling like this.
I have come away with a more positive attitude towards this project as I feel that I know now what I have to do to further my research, sketches and samples. From the feedback I was given from my group I realised that I need to link my sketches to photos to show a good amount of evidence and more understanding behind the sketches. I would also like to add context to my work and explain about the drawing and where the sketch has come from. For example, a lot of my work is very abstract so someone who doesn’t know much about my work won’t really get a great understanding of the topic it is based on, so therefore having text alongside my work may help.
All in all, found the mid unit review a great way to have a chat to others that I may not speak to usually about my work and to get some honest and helpful feedback.
