How to developed motifs

 Step by step guide to develop motifs in photoshop 

1. Start of by drawing your motifs. I make my bold so that they are easily picked up by the scanner 

2. Scan drawings. usually I use the scanners a uni but because I worked from home I didn't have access to this unfortunately, so I used a scanning app on my phone. 

3. I then edit the levels of my scans to make them easier to play around with when changing the colours and adding to them. 

4. Then I start to add colours in with the bucket tool and also add whatever extras I think will help the motif look better within my prints. As I wanted to create prints like Andy Warhols style of work, I made sure to use the same motifs but just change the colours within them to add more of a contrast. 

                

                          

5. Then I lay out my motif however I want and add in background colours, textures and art decors.
